Exercise cardiac MR assessment of diastolic function

چکیده
Background Dyspnea with exertion is a common symptom in patients with left ventricular (LV) systolic and diastolic dysfunction. Assessing changes in systolic and diastolic hemodynamic parameters with exercise is necessary to thoroughly characterize these patients. Evaluation of changes in LV systolic function with exercise stress cardiac magnetic resonance (MR) has been demonstrated previously [1,2]. In this study we assessed the feasibility of assessing LV diastolic function with exercise cardiac magnetic resonance.

Effect of Endurance, Resistance and Concurrent training on the Function of the cardiac of healthy middle-aged women
Background & Aim: Cardiac functional adaptations are affected by gender, age, intensity and type of exercise. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of endurance, resistance, concurrent training on the cardiac function. Methods: Forty healthy middle-aged women (mean age 44/62±3/45 years, height 157/75±4/87 cm and weight 73/27±10/64 kg) were randomly divided into four groups (10 person...
متن کاملQuantitative cardiac MR assessment of left ventricular diastology
Background Cardiac MR (CMR) is the accepted gold standard for the assessment of myocardial scar and biventricular systolic function. Bright blood cine imaging with phase-contrast mitral inflow assessment has shown promise for the evaluation of left ventricular (LV) diastology. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of LV diastolic function grading by CMR, using Doppler echocardio...
متن کاملAssessment of cardiac time intervals using high temporal resolution real-time spiral phase contrast with UNFOLD-SENSE
Background Cardiac time intervals (CTI) provide information about systolic and diastolic function and can be measured using mitral valve (MV) and LV outflow tract (LVOT) Doppler velocity curves. Velocity curves produced by gated phase-contrast (PC) MR are not suitable for measurement of CTI due to distortion secondary to averaging across multiple heartbeats. Therefore, we developed a novel real...
متن کاملCardiac Function and Morphological Adaptations in Endurance and Resistance Athletes: Evaluation using a new Method
Background: Tissue Doppler Echocardiography (TDE) assesses diastolic function more accurately than routine pulse Doppler echo. Assessment of the effects of dynamic and static exercises on the heart by using TDE can provides new information about the athlete’s heart syndrome. Methods: This study was conducted on 20 elite wrestlers, 14 endurance runners at national level and 21 non-athletes as th...
متن کاملPulsed Intra-Arterial Drug Injection during Diastolic Phase of Cardiac Function Increases Drug Efficacy by Enhancing Pharmacological Exposure of Targeted Tissues
Diastolic phase of cardiac function is associated with lower arterial flow and hence higher concentration of intra arterially injected drug is achieved at the site of injection. It is herein postulated that drugs show higher efficacy when injected during the diastolic phase of cardiac function. It is also postulated that this benefit cannot be achieved when the drug is injected with higher rate...
